The City Ladies Closed Amateur Tournament is a flighted 54 hole, 3 day, stroke play event considered the Premier Tournament for Amateur Ladies in Calgary. Ladies belonging to a Member Club of the Calgary Ladies Golf Association with a valid RCGA Handicap Factor are eligible to enter. The tournament is held at a different club each year, typically in the second or third week of June. Entries will be accepted for 4 weeks, beginning 6 weeks prior to the first day of competition. The 96 entrants with the lowest handicap factors are accepted and divided into now 8 flights. It was changed from 6 flights to 8 flights in 2010.
A "City Ladies Amateur Champion" is crowned based on the overall low gross score. Also awarded are "City Ladies Amateur Runner-up" (overall second low gross) and "City Ladies Amateur Low Net" (overall low net). All three winners receive gift certificates plus a memento as well as their names engraved on the perpetual Calgary Ladies Amateur Trophies supplied by the Calgary Ladies Golf Association.
In Addition to the three top winners, gift certificates will be awarded to the Low Gross, Runner-up Low Gross and Low Net in each of the eight flights.
