2026 SURVEY RESULTS

42nd Edition!
 

The Rileys Best Ball Ladies Classic is the kickoff to the Calgary Ladies Golf Association season and is the longest running best ball tournament in North America.  It’s a great way to play different courses and meet new friends, all in the name of fun and fellowship. 

Participant Guidelines

Entry is open to all CLGA members and female club pros. Both players that register as a team must be from the same club and one must be an amateur. 

Format Rules

Rileys is a four-ball match play competition. 48 teams are separated into a championship, first and second flight. No strokes are given in the flighted match play. All teams are guaranteed two games. A and B side finals in each flight are played and celebrated on Championship Sunday in July.

Qualification and 48 Team Ranking Procedure

The lowest 48 teams qualify to play in the tournament which is broken into 3 flights. Prior to 2 years ago, we would take all of the lower and half of the higher index to come up with a combined handicap for each team.  This year we will again rank all 48 teams based only on the lower index of the two players as updated by Golf Canada on the day after the entry deadline. 

Draw

We will likely do the draw the same as last year but based on very mixed feedback from the survey we want to take some extra time to make a final decision. Stay tuned!

Dates 

Here are the notable dates for 2026. We recognize that the Finals will conflict with some clubs’ Club Championships so will likely alternate between the last and second last weekend in July in the future. They will again be scheduled later in the afternoon so that it is still possible to do both. *Championship Sunday will be back at Canyon Meadows this year*

Because the draw reveal is not until May, match deadlines are extended in to early summer.

• Mar 20 – Entry Opening

• Apr 20 – Entry Deadline (5:00 pm sharp!)

• May 4 – Opening Cocktail Party – Calgary Golf & Country Club (6:00 – 9:30pm)

• June 7 – Round 1 Deadline

• June 28 – Round 2 Deadline

• July 19 – Round 3 Deadline

• July 26 – Championship Sunday- Canyon Meadows Golf & Country Club (tee times starting around 1:00)
